About This Game:
Rating: T for Teen. Publisher: NAMCO. Year: 1998.
I love
Tekken 2, don't get me wrong, but I think this is probably the
"king-sized version" of the game. There are a lot more characters
here and many of them are very interesting. The first two Tekken
games really didn't have the character variety I like.
The set-up
is the same as Tekken 1 or 2. It's not a
departure
from the series at all. Just a technological advancement.
The graphics are even better, and they really upped the anty for game
options and certainly the number of characters.
Here are
some of the characters that grab my attention in
this game and
why:
Anna
Williams= Anna is Nina's hated sister
and one of the unlockable characters in this game. This time
around, I think Anna is more sexy than Nina. She definitely looks
better here than in Tekken 2. She wears a beautiful red sequined
evening gown in this game. Other outfit options just change the
color of her dress. I like her cocky laugh when she wins, and the
little dance she does. She's catty, but cool. Anna really
isn't a villain, per se, but we do know that she and Nina hate each
other.
Julia=
Julia
looks a lot like Michelle from Tekken 1 and
2. She's a great-looking character, one of the unlockables.
Like Michelle, she looks like a cross between a beautiful Chinese girl
and an Indian maiden.
Nina
Williams=
Nina's the heroine of the series and easily
the most popular female character. I think her standard outfit in
this game looks very dull. She looks cool in her tight purple
outfit which is one of the other outfit options in the game, but the
basic look of her in Tekken 3, that they used in ads and merchandising,
is not as appealing.
