X-Men

X-Men:  Publisher: ?.  Year: 199?.  Difficulty: High.  Graphics: High.  Rated: ?.

I have yet to master this game, but I've really enjoyed playing it to date.  I WILL add more to this later.  One thing I can say is that I do not like the X-Men comic books or cartoons, of which this is based.  That being said, it's not easy to make me an X-Men fan of anything (except the radically different live-action movies, which rock!).  The beauty of this game is that it keeps the story simple, but the action wild and non-stop.  The characters you can choose from to play are very large on screen and you can definitely see them and know what you're doing.  Although you can only choose from a few characters to play with (I think four?  Let me check again), you will see almost all of the major characters throughout the game.  They will actually help you along your way.  The graphic designs of the characters and the settings are awesome, and I like it that each character can do so many things.  In addition, almost every one of the ongoing X-Men villains is seen somewhere in the game.

A bit unrelated, Nintendo NES released a much different X-Men video game earlier in the decade and that one sucked!  Even a grandma will be able to tell you that this game is the better of the two.  That game had chunky versions of our heroes with limited powers from an overhead view.  It was difficult beyond belief, and besides that only the bosses were legitimate X-Men villains.  Most of the baddies were things like electric toasters (I think) and other weird little things that were never in the comics/cartoons.
