Character: The famous game and character we know today as
"Pac-Man" was originally called "Puck-Man". This was just a
development title. NAMCO designed the game in 1980. Due to
obvious reasons, the name was changed. Why was he called
"Puck-Man", anyway? He looked like a hockey puck onscreen!
Of course, when the character became popular and fleshed out into
cartoons and merchandising, Pac-Man was shaped as a ball. To be
truthful, I never thought too much of the original "Pac-Man" game, but
really enjoyed the character in other media such as the cartoons,
records, stuffed animals, and so on. "Pac-Man" was an extremely
simple little video game character, but such a backstory was put to
him, even a supporting cast!
