The Muppet Show (1976-1981): The Muppets at their finest hour! There were Muppets before and after this series, but this is the show that really counts! This, and the later incarnation, "Muppets Tonight" (1996-1998).
Never before had the Muppets been so defined. Muppet skits that were seen on various television programs years before were always rather anonymous. Now they had very distinct personalities. Take that, a bigger budget to do more elaborate puppetry, and interesting guest stars, and you have one of the most unique programs ever to hit the airwaves.
