Released in 1995. The first incarnation of America's Power Rangers, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, premiered in 1993 on FOX TV. The show is cheap and terrible with effects that looked bad in the 1950s. But amazingly it grew so popular that a live-action movie had to be made. I never liked the Power Rangers, but some of the toys look pretty sharp. And the basic look and premise of the characters is cool. The execution is just bad in the shows. But the Power Rangers are one of those shows that stays on for commercial purposes to sell the toys. Some of these toy ideas are pretty clever and a throwback to the fun, 1950s camp sci-fi shows.
