About This Series:
This series was greatly inspired by the success of
Kenner’s DC Comics-based “Super Powers” line that ended in 1986.
Toy Biz, at the time, was just a fledgling company who got their first
major license with DC Comics. They produced this series and the
“Batman (Film)” series simultaneously. Robin was not put in the
“Batman” series, but in this one. Toy critics give this line a
lot of guff about being inferior to “Super Powers” and not being very
well-designed. In reality, some of the figures look very good
(Lex Luthor, for instance) and are highly sought by certain
collectors. The toy line ran only from 1989-1990, and the figures
have become very hard to find.
