About This Series:
This is based on the 1989 live-action film,
"Batman". Michael Keaton played Batman. Jack Nicholson
played Joker. Tracy Walter played Bob the Goon. Robin was
NOT in the movie. Toy Biz, at the time, was just a fledgling
company who got their first major license with DC Comics. They
produced this “Batman” series with the “DC Super Heroes” series
simultaneously. Robin was not put in the “Batman” series, but
with the other. It’s interesting to note that neither Joker or
Bob the Goon (an original character for this film) featured the
likenesses of their respective actors. The only figure that
looked kind of like its actor was Batman.

Basic Figures
Name-
Joker
About the
Figure- NOT a likeness of Jack Nicholson. This Joker
action figure came with an oversized, purple hat and a long black
cane. It's actually a good-looking, well-made figure for this
character. He looks a bit more fun than a lot of figure versions
of this classic bad guy.

Name-
Batmobile
About the Vehicle-
There were a variety of Batmobiles released in this line. This
had the open top, with Working Rocket Launchers, and a trunk that
opened. That was it. There was another release of it that
looked like it in every way and was even called just Batmobile, but
included the Cocoon like you see in the movie. I have a feeling
that I’ve got the most “common” of the series’ Batmobiles, which is
still rare to find and has been pretty much since the early 1990s.
Then there was an Electronic Batmobile, released in
1990, with buttons that made sounds and activated lights. Also in
1990, by Kenner, there was a Batmobile that had Pop-Up Machine Guns and
Firing Turbine Missile. In 1989, with Toy Biz, a Turbine Sound
Batmobile was made. I think the only difference between this and
Electronic Batmobile was that this ONLY made turbine sounds and didn’t
have the big, clunky gray buttons.
Interesting to know, there were two Remote Control
Batmobile vehicles, and one Radio Control Batmobile. The two
Remote Control Batmobiles were alike except one had just turbine
sounds, where the other had turbine sounds and turbine light. The
Radio Control Batmobile, which I have in my collection, is a cheaper
version where you have a trigger control and none of the sounds and
lights features.
ALL of the Batmobiles from this series are
RARE. Good luck finding them, if you can.
