About This Card
Series:
I believe there were 55 cards in the base set, and I'm not sure how
many stickers. "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" was the
blockbuster 1991 Robin Hood film starring Kevin Costner as the
hero. The movie was second only to "Terminator 2: Judgment Day"
in terms of worldwide ticket sales for that year. However,
merchandising was sparse. The movie, itself, has not retained any
great, long-lasting popularity (unlike "Terminator 2"). It still
stands as one of Kevin Costner's best films.
I think the fact that "Robin Hood: Prince of
Thieves" did NOT have a strong merchandising engine, and that it wasn't
followed up by a sequel, are the reasons why it's one of those "big
movies" we just don't hear much about these days.
Featured
Cards: I won't
display every card from this series because I don't think every card is
necessarily attractive or otherwise special. What
you'll see here are some of the cards I think stand out.
I hope you enjoy these cards, too!
#54:
A Hero's Death!

Christian Slater as Will Scarlett. It was around this time that
Christian Slater started being really cool in movies. Another
great movie he was in, called "Kuffs", was released later in early 1992.

Kevin Costner as Robin Hood. I've always felt this was one of his
best movies. This is one of those sticker card things where the
backs of the cards form a picture when you put them all together.
The picture was the "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" logo. I like
the castle design of the stickers.
