I created a new Department, Aviation. There isn't much in it right now, but I hope to have lots of fun facts and pictures about the world of flight and its aviators.
It's been a long time, but I've finally brought back my Amazon links! I'm pretty choosy with what I like to endorse on my site. If I feel a product is worth mentioning and linking to in Polar Blair's Den, then a little box ad will be shown. Right now, I'm going through all of my movie and TV features and linking to DVD releases on the Amazon.com website. I'm often asked, "Where can I buy this show online?" so I hope these little links help you out. In months ahead, I'll post Amazon links for great products in other Departments.
It's been quite a busy month, again! In...and out of...Polar Blair's Den. I had to change my website's FTP program because the one I had, called CoreFTP, just decided to stop working! I don't know what that's about. In a way, I'm glad it happened because the FTP program I use now loads updates much faster. Some of the Departments I uploaded used to take about 30 minutes; now it takes about 1 minute.
Polar Blair's Den, as a business, is really building and brewing into something special. I've done a great many shows with Emmy Lou Candles and items like "Copper Cookie Dog Treats" and "Polar Pops" have been very popular with customers. I also offer my creative services such as CD/DVD custom work, website design, and various, artistic endeavors. Next newsletter I plan to make a major announcement (finally) regarding Polar Blair's Den creative services for hire. It's been a long time coming.
Lately I've been into beefing up my pages with websites like Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, and Twitter. I've also rejoined Amazon and Webring. These are all great ways of networking and spreading the word about Polar Blair's Den. I hope all of you check out these websites, not just for me, and get a kick out of what you see. It would be an honor to associate with you on any of these websites so please feel free to make friend requests.
The Emmy Lou Candles Shop is nearing the end of its construction. We were hoping to have it open by Thanksgiving, but do not think we'll have it ready by then. We DO believe, however, that it should be up and running by early December. The Emmy Lou Candles Shop will be open for business this Winter, and we're planning on a Grand Opening event this next Spring/Summer.
It's not easy building up two businesses at the same time, while also building up a really huge "facts and figures" website, but I love what I do and hope you do, too. For the most part it's all been really fun, but I do get worn down from time to time, and it does take me a while to answer all of my e-mails. I read all of them and love them.
