Words From The Webmaster:

The Music Department was my big goal for this month, and it took a lot of work.  But, as usual, I added a few things to the already-existing Departments.  I also added the Cars Department.

One thing I'm proud to bring to Polar Blair's Den is scans of VHS covers for various pages in the entertainment-related Departments.  Some of these scans date back almost nine years!  Some, of course, were done more recently.  VHS covers are nostalgic now, as the format has been almost completely wiped out from stores and video manufacturers.  I think of them as mini-movie posters.  They're  cool to see and I hope you like them, too!

I started a Facebook page, which I tell you more about in the Contact area of this newsletter.  I hope to see you there!  I'm very happy with the friends I've made so far on Facebook; actors, fans, musicians, writers, etc.  It's worth checking out.  I also started a group on Facebook called "The Official Quinn O'Hara Fan Club" and it's open for anyone to join.  Check that out, too.

As usual, thanks for your continued interest in Polar Blair's Den.  I hope that you find my website, and this newsletter, to be very entertaining.

Actors/Actresses/Performers: VISIT THIS DEPARTMENT!

Gayle Caldwell-  Major changes to the feature of the singer/actress.  Visit her page in "Beauties of the Beverly Hillbillies".

Lana Clarkson-  NEW FEATURE!  Tall, beautiful, blonde actress more popularly-known as "the woman Phil Spector killed".  Despite that, she was a striking lady who DID have acting ability and starred in a great number of TV shows and B-movies.  Lots of pictures.

Wally Cox-  NEW FEATURE!  Popular character actor and the voice of "Underdog"!

Matthias Hues-  NEW FEATURE!  Muscular, long-haired, blond German action star of American action movies.  Usually plays bad guys, and has made quite a career for himself as a movie "heavy" since 1988.  He also happens to be a nice guy in real life.  I heard from him once via e-mail in 2002.

Victor Jory- NEW FEATURE!  Popular character actor who also had successful lead roles, like the superhero "The Shadow" in the 1940 serial.

Sylva Koscina-  Popular actress of foreign films, best remembered as "Hercules' woman" in both of Steve Reeves' Hercules movies.  Tons of new pics!

Quinn O'Hara-  Lots of new changes!  More pictures!  More pages!  Find out more about the lovely redhead actress and get autographed pictures!

Charlie Ruggles-  NEW FEATURE!  Popular comedic leading actor, character actor, and voice of Aesop in the Aesop's Fables segments of "The Bullwinkle Show".

Steven Seagal-  NEW FEATURE!  Dedication to the great, white master of the martial arts!  A concise look at his film career with pics!

Cars: VISIT THIS DEPARTMENT!

NEW DEPARTMENT!  Cars are interesting, what can I say?  Unless you're dead or a vegetable, you can't help being fascinated by these rolling metal masterpieces.

It's a small Department, now, but you can see how big it will become.  Right now, I have a feature on the very first Woody Station Wagon (the 1923 Star), and Jeep.  I cover exciting supercars from film and television like the 1966 Batmobile, the 1958 Plymouth Fury "Christine", and The Coyote from "Hardcastle & McCormick".  More are coming!

Music:
VISIT THIS DEPARTMENT!

NEW DEPARTMENT!  This was a long time coming.  The Music Department needed major changes in look and functionality.  There is still a lot of room for growth, but my main objective was to get everything uniform.  I think you'll agree that the Music Department is lookin' good, now!

I couldn't get ALL of the features back up this month, but they are ALL returning.  I do, however, have some new artist features.

The Gayle Caldwell feature has been given major retooling.  She has been given many new pages and tons of pictures.  I even have a page for her highly sought album Celebration of Life from 1968.  ALL THIS, AND SONG CLIPS!  Play this clip from "No One in the Boat" from her new CD, All is One.

UFO (1970-1971)-  NEW FEATURE!  The incredible sci-fi series that outshines "Star Trek" at every turn.  Holds up incredibly well all these years later!  Lots of information and pictures!

What's Next?:

Next month, I plan to fill in some of the already-existing Departments.  Expect new additions to Actors/Actresses/Performers, Cars, Comics, Music, and Television.  I've got most of March "booked", so I can't promise any new Departments.  I CAN tell you that the next new Department I will be working on is Cartoons.  It was always a very popular attraction, and I have more on Mighty Mouse than anyone else on the Internet.

I hope you have been enjoying the rebirth of Polar Blair's Den.  When I decided to revamp the website middle of last year, I knew it would be a huge undertaking.  I thank all of you for sticking around, checking out my pages, and, of course, subscribing to the newsletter.
