About the
Artist: Trixter was a feel-good, hard rock
group. Some people might have labeled them as heavy metal, but
they're really hard rock. There is much more music to their songs
than heavy metal bands would have, which just carry out a same, basic
beat. In 1990, Trixter came out with their self-titled debut
album which is really quite good. The cover is very interesting,
because it looks like the cover of a superhero comic book! I
enjoy the whole album, but the songs I feel should be on a greatest
hits compilation would have to be the following:
Line of Fire
Give
it
to me Good
Bad
Girl
Ride
the
Whip
As I said, I enjoy all 12 of the songs on this
album, but the four mentioned above are the best of the best.
Trixter has a way of even starting out every song as a winner.
They don't drag things out like some groups...they get right into the
meat of it. The guitar work is really powerful as well as
intricate thanks to Steve Brown. Mark "Gus" Scott is a colossal
drummer. It sounds like a giant beating larger-than-life drums in
the back of every song. P.J. Farley's a fine bassist and
compliments everything nicely. Peter Loran, the lead singer, has
one of those great 1980s metal voices, although the songs it's applied
to is a nice change of pace from most 80s rocker albums.
