Polar Blair's Thoughts on the
Artist: This
man died way too young. I always liked him as a singer and he
came off in interviews as a nice personality. He did the
clean, cool kind of pop music and although I'm not into all the songs
he did, his standouts are really exceptional. I would have liked
to meet him in person.

Videography:
Super Nova
(1989) [VHS]- The popularity of his 1988
album Heavy Nova, due greatly
to the
appeal of the song and music video "Simply Irresistible", prompted this
video release. I recommend it to all Robert Palmer fans and
anyone who wants to introduce themselves to the Robert Palmer
phenomenon.
Songs:
"Change His
Ways" -- I
love this classic country
style of pop song! The video is mainly an animated cartoon with a
horny boy duck and a bunch of sexy girl ducks, animated by Massimo
Mattioli. Robert Palmer stands in front of the animated girl duck
backup singers. Very funny. Probably his best video.
"Simply
Irresistible" -- I've always loved this
video. This seems to be a full, uncut version. After this
video, Robert talks about the making of this video and the phenomenon
behind it.
"Tell Me I'm Not
Dreaming"
"It Could Happen
to You"
"Between Us"
"She Makes My
Day"
"Early in the
Morning"
"Some Like it
Hot" -- This
and the next two songs
were recorded live in a Birmingham, England concert as Robert tells you
right before this song starts. I've always liked this song and
it's neat to see him do it live. It sounds just as great as the
studio version.
"I've Got Dreams
to Remember"
"Casting a
Spell" -- This
is another great song,
very fast and uptempo.
