"Demonic Toys" movie.
Cast:
Tim Thomerson as Brick Bardo (Dollman)
Melissa Behr as Nurse Ginger
Tracy Scoggins as Judith Gray
Frank Welker as Baby Oopsy-Daisy [voice] Dollman vs. the Demonic Toys (1993):
This is a weird, weird little B-movie. Funny thing is, I still
kind of like it. It certainly isn't an outstandingly great movie,
but it is kind of fun and it does have its bright spots. The
strength of this movie is that it's funny, and purposely funny.
It's not one of those so-bad-it's-funny things. The film, in it's
entirety, is meant to be offbeat.
It's a very short movie, only a little over an hour,
and that's even with a lot of recycled footage from other films.
However, it's long enough. There really isn't anything in this
movie to warrant 90+ minutes. I think the filmmakers did the
right thing by keeping it short. Brick Bardo, nicknamed
"Dollman", is a cop from another planet who, normal-sized on his own
planet, became miniaturized when he arrived on Earth. He becomes
the lover of miniaturized Earthwoman Nurse Ginger. Normal-sized
woman cop Judith Gray enlists the help of Dollman in killing a group of
evil toys from Hell. That's about the brunt of it.
Tim Thomerson is a likable actor who usually plays a
lot of goofball characters. Dollman is kind of a goof as he is
always trying to be so, so cool. I really liked Melissa Behr as
Nurse Ginger. She's really quite a knockout, and played a cute,
funny character. If it wasn't for her, there wouldn't have been
much of a show. Tracy Scoggins as Judith Gray looks great as
ever, and I've always enjoyed Scoggins in shows. She's just one
of those great, catty "babe" actresses that's fun to watch. I
didn't like it that her character got killed. Her death didn't
serve the story and it hurt the film. Frank Welker did the voice
of the evil baby doll leader of the Demonic Toys, Baby
Oopsy-Daisy. He's definitely one of Hollywood's great "voice
gods" and has done voiceover work for many, many cartoons and movies.
