About This
Series:
This was a one-shot prequel released during the time of the first X-Men
movie! There were three different prequel comics: Magneto,
Rogue, and Wolverine. Wolverine was unique, because he had a
prequel to his prequel, released exclusively by Toys R Us stores.
So I guess you could say there were four different prequel
titles. Not to mention the fact that each of the three major
prequels had three different covers. Marvel produced two
"standard" covers for each title. One was a illustrated cover,
the other a photo cover. Dynamic Forces also released a cover for
each of the three comics. Those are quite collectible.
Dynamic Forces covers were limited and usually autographed, coming with
official certificates and in trade paperback form. So this
"Magneto" comic has three different covers in all.
Issues:
#1: 2000.
I'm surprised that a Magneto comic would be interesting, but it
was. In a way, Magneto is like a hero himself, although his
intentions are misguided. We find out about Magneto's background,
his early friendship with a non-crippled Charles Xavier, their falling
out, and the formation of the Brotherhood of Mutants, with Magneto's
underlings Mystique, Sabretooth, and Toad. Takes us right up to
the beginning of the first X-Men movie. Really well done.
