About This
Series:
I guess they
called him Death Metal because Death's Head 3 would have been pushing
it, but that's essentially what it is. This is a Marvel UK title,
and I don't normally approve of that imprint's comics. This
series, however, boasted a great story AND great artwork. This
was almost like it was made stateside! I can't say that Death
Metal is one of my favorite characters, because he's not really a
hero. It is, however, a great science-fiction saga. And not
quite as gross as you'd think. I still wouldn't let very young
children read this, though. Save it for kids twelve and up.
Death Metal is a killer cyborg character torn
between good and evil. He's at war with himself to be good, but
his evil programming often drives him to kill. This series lasted
four issues, but Death Metal has appeared in comics before and since.
Issues:
#1: January,
1994. A well drawn, action-packed issue that has tons of fighting
and explosions. Can't go wrong with that. Surprisingly very
little in the gore department.
