About This
Series:
This is a one-shot
comic featuring Marvel's blind martial artist Daredevil, and Crusade's
sexy Japanese sword-slinger Shi. It is continued into the Crusade
publication, "Shi/Daredevil- Honor Thy Mother" #1. This isn't a
bad comic, but the follow-up is better. This issue just builds up
to the action.
Personally, I think it was silly how they published
the Daredevil/Shi comics. It would have been a better move to
publish both comics together in one edition, softcover and/or trade
paperback. At the very least, one of the publishers could have
agreed on a two-issue mini-series under one title. This is the
most confusing way of marketing a crossover that I've ever seen, and
Marvel did this a handful of times in the late 1990s with other
characters and publishers.
Issues:
#1: February
1997. All publishers pre-date their comics. The sequel to
this issue, as published by Crusade, is dated January 1997. Isn't
that weird?
This issue is good enough for building up the story,
but the follow-up, published by Crusade, has all the action and the
best interraction between Daredevil and Shi. It's good to read if
you want the whole story, but "Shi/Daredevil- Honor Thy Mother" is the
must-have.
