About This
Series:
It's amazing that I would like Alpha Flight. I've always hated
Marvel's mutant comics as a general rule. Especially the X-Men
and related "team" comics. Certain characters, like Wolverine,
were always cool on their own. But generally, mutants suck.
I've always enjoyed Alpha Flight, the comics and the individual
characters and random appearances throughout other Marvel titles.
What's even stranger is that this superhero team is from Canada, which
was a bizarre concept at the time of its creation. "Alpha Flight"
was the creation of comic legend John Byrne. He really had a good
idea here. The series was light-hearted, yet legitimate superhero
stories. Nothing stupid. I just think Alpha Flight is a lot
of fun and I can't wait until they get their own live-action movie.
Issues:
#5: December,
1983. This is a Puck solo story. Puck is the little midget
guy with incredible speed and agility. He likes to bounce off
things to build up speed, which is where the "puck" name comes
from. While in the hospital, recovering from a serious injury,
Puck busts up a drug ring headed by one of the doctors! This is a
one-issue story, which I like, and Puck is just a great
character. A smart, funny personality and incredible
powers. I'm surprised Puck isn't better known among comic
readers. Midgets/dwarfs/little people, whatever you want to call
them, they need heroes, too, and Puck is a wonderful role model.
