About This
Series:
Published jointly by Dark Horse and DC (although Dark Horse gets the
credit), this is an interesting mini-series that makes us all wonder
why it wasn't done much sooner. Batman's cartoonish, psychotic
archnemesis The Joker gets his hands on "The Mask", from Dark Horse
comics and movies fame. Since "The Mask" comics has the crazy
mask going from one person to another, it really works to give The
Joker a chance to wear it. Joker's henchwoman in this series is
the sexy Harley Quinn. An extremely popular DC character, Harley
Quinn did NOT debut in Batman comics, but in the TV cartoon series,
"Batman: The Animated Series". She became so well-liked that she
was ultimately "sneaked" into the comics.
Batman, of course, is the hero in this series.
I'm not usually into crazy-looking artwork, but since this series is
more about the psychotic mishappenings of both The Joker and The Mask,
and it's meant to be funny, it works. If this was a movie, it
would be PG-rated. If it wasn't for the fact that some characters
DO get killed, it would be great for younger children. I would
actually like to see this made into a live-action feature film.
This has "hit" potential.
