History of Ricochet RabbitOne of Hanna-Barbera's most brilliant cartoon series.  He's the Western Sheriff of a town called Hoopin Holler and with sluggish, dimwitted Deputy Droop-a-long Coyote they bust bad guys in all sorts of creative ways.  He always calls himself and prefers to be called "Ping-Ping-Ping Ricochet Rabbit".  He's fast, of course, and very persistent.  Ricochet shoots these bullets that are like miniature travelling gadgets.  Some of them go "boom", but most of them have some major elaborate function like lassoing criminals, signing autographs, hitting bad guys on the head with a mallet, and countless other devices.  Dom Messick did the voice of Ricochet, and Mel Blanc the voice of Droop-a-long.  I've researched the history of the cartoon and believe I have all of it right, but if I made an error (and I probably did), please E-MAIL ME and let me know.  I'm also looking for neat Ricochet Rabbit items to add to my collection and to share with others on this website.  Here it goes:

Timeline:

1.  Ricochet first appeared in 1963 as one of the segments in the "Touche Turtle" show.
2.  He went on to "The Magilla Gorilla Show" starting with the show's debut on January 16, 1964 for 10 segments.  I believe some of these segments may have been repeated from "Touche Turtle."
3.  Then onto the "Peter Potamus and His Magic Flying Balloon" show for 13 more segments.  Ricochet appeared in cartoons on that show up until 1965.  The series itself lasted from 1964 to 1967.
4.  In 1966, Ricochet Rabbit was moved to "The Peter Potamus Show".  As far as I know, they just aired repeats of Ricochet Rabbit cartoons.
5.  Ricochet Rabbit also had his own cartoon series after this, consisting of previously aired cartoons.  I'm unsure of the airdates.
