Episode Review:

#1, "Dumb-Hounded".  Guest Star:  Wolf.  Story:  Prison guard dog Droopy pursues escaped convict Wolf.

#2, "The Shooting of Dan McGoo".  Guest Stars:  Wolf & Red.  Story:  Droopy, as Dangerous Dan McGoo, faces off against outlaw Wolf in the Yukon territory of Alaska.  Red is featured as Dangerous Dan's girlfriend, Lou.

Special Mention:
  • We first see Red wearing a tight black dress.  We later see her in the familiar red dress for most of her appearance in this cartoon.
  • The title of this cartoon is a spoof on 'The Shooting of Dan McGrew' from "The Spell of the Yukon and Other Verses" by Robert W. Service.
  • The name of the town in this cartoon is Coldernell, Alaska.  Think about it.

#3, "Wild and Woolfy".  Guest Stars:  Wolf & Red.  Story:  Cowboy Droopy rescues Red from Western outlaw Wolf.

Special Mention:
  • Red wears a white cowgirl outfit in this cartoon.
  • This cartoon marks the first appearance of Droopy's little blue horse.

#4, "Northwest Hounded Police".  Guest Stars:  Wolf.  Story:  Canadian mountie Droopy McPoodle pursues escaped convict Wolf.

Special Mention:
  • This cartoon gives us the second appearance of Droopy's little blue horse.

#5, "Senor Droopy".  Guest Stars:  Wolf.  Story:  Matadors Droopy and Wolf compete for the affections of the live-action Lina Romoy.

Special Mention:
  • This is the first time Droopy is called by name.  In his first four cartoons, Droopy had no name!

#6, "Wags to Riches".  Guest Stars:  Million-heir Droopy must survive Spike's murder attempts.

Special Mention:
  • The Spike from the Droopy cartoons is not to be confused with the Spike from Tom & Jerry cartoons, also produced by MGM.  I've always thought it strange that MGM allowed two dog characters in their cartoons to be named Spike.
