1965 Chrysler New Yorker:
This car holds a special meaning for me, because I own one. My father left it to me after
he died on May 31, 2006. It's been in the family for years.
Dad bought it from an older lady named Margie Messer. She didn't
drive it that much. She and her husband bought it new, and he
died not long after. From then, she only put maybe 300 miles on
it a year until she sold it to my father in 1980.
I've loved this car my whole life! The whole
family had to be so dang careful around the car because it's a rarer
model and parts are hard to come by. It wasn't until after I
inherited it that I did my research and discovered that the model I own
was Chrysler's fanciest, most elaborate model of New Yorker for that
year. It's a four-seater with extra tall cielings so men could
wear their hats inside.
