1923 Star Woody Station Wagon
1923 Star Woody Station Wagon:
There
were Woody
Station Wagons long before Ford made them.
Don't believe me? The first actual
wooden-paneled station wagon
sold commercially was the 1923
Star.
Other companies
made Woody Station Wagons such as the 1931 Dodge Series DH
Six Woody Station
Wagon.
It wasn't
until 1937 that Ford started making the Woody
Station Wagon. Most
people associate Woody Station Wagons as being only
manufactured by
Ford, but in the 1930s-1940s companies like
Plymouth, Chrysler, and
Chevrolet all tried their hand at making Woody
Station Wagons.
Although most of these Woody Station Wagon lines
would die out by the
1950s, there was a Buick Woody Station Wagon as
recent as 1996.
