    "Judge Roy Bean" was a good western TV series for the whole family...definitely unique.  It sparked a great heroine in Letty Bean as played by the beautiful Jackie Loughery.  She was Roy Bean's niece, and helped him manage the store.  Letty is not a law enforcer by any means, but she often gets caught up in her uncle's adventures and has to help out.  What I like about this character is that she's beautiful, but not meant to be only a showpiece.  She actually has a purpose.  Letty has to run the store while her uncle is out most of the time acting as "The Law West of the Pecos".

    In real life, Ms. Loughery was the very first Miss USA (1952).  She was in many different shows from 1951 to 1969.  She was married to actor Guy Mitchell from 1953 to 1954, and Jack Webb (Joe Friday from "Dragnet") from July 1958 to March 1964.  Both marriages ended in divorce.  I'd like to know more about Jackie Loughery.  If you know anything, please CONTACT ME.
