Happy Harmony
played by Marilyn Patch
"The New Howdy Doody Show" TV series (1976-1977)

Buffalo Bob Smith never had a prettier sidekick than Happy Harmony, the singing schoolteacher from Doodyville!  I wish I would have had school-teachers that looked like her.  Heck, I wish I would have had school-teachers that were as nice as her.  A positive and tastefully sexy role model for kids.  Marilyn Patch, the actress who played Happy Harmony, looks like she enjoys doing what she's doing on the show.  Plus she's good at performing children's songs.

Extra Information on Marilyn Patch:  It's a shame that Ms. Patch doesn't even have her name on the Internet Movie Database.  I'm going to urge IMDB to include her in the cast info for "The New Howdy Doody Show" and if you are a fan you should do the same.  Before her stint on "Howdy Doody", Ms. Patch had her own local show in the Boston, Massachusetts area called "Marilyn and Calico".  Calico is a donkey.  I don't know much about it, but would really like to see some of those shows.  If you have any of these shows, or if you know anything about Marilyn Patch, please CONTACT ME.  I'd like to add more to this article in the future.

* Ivan L. Bial from www.medianetgroup.com (MediaNet Group Technologies, Inc.) told me about Marilyn's appearance on the famous "What's My Line" game show from 1963.  Here is what he told me:

"What's My Line" September 8, 1963 Episode Number 693

Game 1:  Miss Marilyn Patch- "Ventriloquist, Star of Weekly Television Show" (about age 10, from Natick, MA, her show named "Marilyn and Calico" airs on station WHDH in Boston on Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.;  Calico is a donkey; Marilyn is exceptionally bright and articulate for her young age; her parents write her show material and songs; Dorothy Kilgallen guessed her line in one set of questions; at Arlene's request, Marilyn sang a short song).

* On January 1, 2006 I received this e-mail from one of Marilyn's co-stars on "Marilyn and Calico":

Dear Mr. Blair,

I would like to contact Marilyn Patch if you have any information on her whereabouts.  I appeared as a regular character ("The Friendly Forest Ranger") on her Boston show "Marilyn and Calico".  Do you know her current name and/or where she can be reached?

Thank you,

John Walsh

Right now, John, I don't know (as of January 13, 2006).  If anyone out there can help John or me with this task, it would be greatly appreciated.  CONTACT ME.
