This was the second of two appearances for Quinn
in the long-running series "My Three Sons". This episode comes
from Season 5. She and Mary Mitchell played two pretty pool
hustlers named Donna and Carol (respectively). They win all the
money from the teenage Douglas boy, but Uncle Charley (played by
William Demarest), later drops by the pool hall and wipes the girls
clean.
Quinn insisted on doing the pool-shooting scenes
herself, and she did. They were, at first, going to have a male
pool player put on fake fingernails and just show hand shots, but Quinn
thought that was silly and unnecessary. So, yes, Quinn actually
does shoot pool in this episode. A stand-in does work for William
Demarest, however. Every time you see the big cowboy hat tipped
down, it's another guy actually shooting for "Uncle Charley".
Mary Mitchell is charming as always. Quinn was
cast first for this show, and she was asked who she wanted to work with
as the other girl pool hustler. She immediately responded, "Mary
Mitchell", because she had such a good time working with her on the
feature film "A Swingin' Summer". Quinn wishes she could have
worked with Mary Mitchell a lot more, because they worked pretty well
with each other, and were a great onscreen duo.
