This was Quinn's biggest and best of four
appearance on TVs "Burke's Law". In this episode, she played
Sally Lou, a hot hillbilly girl who worked as secretary for overstuffed
hillbilly wrestler Rocky Mountain. Quinn had more onscreen
moments with star Gene Barry than with either Robert Middleton (Rocky
Mountain) or the other three hot hillbilly girls.
Quinn can play any Southern role with complete
success. It's hard to be "goofy funny" and sexy at the same time,
but she pulls it off splendid. Her character, Sally Lou, is an
alleged secretary, but is really more of a babysitter to pet pigs
Cornpone and Buttermilk, and server of the cornpone/buttermilk
concoction Rocky Mountain favors so highly.
Rocky Mountain, played by Robert Middleton, is a
hefty "bad guy" wrestler who is later discovered to be the killer of
the Strangler. He has with him, in his private quarters, three
other sexy hillbilly girls he calls his Country Cousins. They
aren't really his cousins, but it's good for his act. Joy Harmon
plays Barbara Sue, the shy, silly blonde with longer hair and a bow on
her head. Sharyn Hillyer plays the absolute knockout brunette
Rosie Belle, and Michelle Breeze plays the other blonde, Cora Lee, who
is also the most forward in wanting Burke's affections. In my
opinion, Quinn O'Hara, Robert Middleton, and the "Country Cousins" make
this episode, and it's one of the best episodes in the series.
Quinn enjoyed working with everyone on the set,
remembers Robert Middleton as a "nice guy", and is friends with Joy
Harmon. It was her performance in this episode that made Gene
Barry ask for her again for the very last episode of the original
"Burke's Law" series, just a few months later. For that last
episode, Barry wanted all his favorite recurring actors for one last,
big blast, and Quinn made the team. Always modest, Quinn is still
surprised to this day that Gene thought so highly of her.
