A rare 9x7 promotional
photo of Pam Rodgers for the 1967 Rose Bowl.
It cost me a bundle,
but was worth every penny.
I actually have the NBC letter that
came with this when it went out to TV stations.

A wonderful person by the name of F. Mills contributed this
scanned
image of an autographed Pamela Rodgers photo and story on behalf of the
Manuel Topete Blake family. Thank you very much, F. Mills and the
entire family of Manuel Topete Blake from "Polar" Blair Whipple!
As all of you know, I do quite a bit of research on everything I
discuss within Polar Blair's Den. I left a message about Pamela
on an Internet message board and darn if I didn't get a response!
Here is the answer to my query as I received it via e-mail:
Hello Blair,
I didn't meet her personally, but my
grandfather did. He worked as a Production Sound Mixer for 50
years in Mexico. He worked with a lot of Hollywood productions
that filmed south of the border. He divorced my grandmother 20
years ago and passed away recently. I had not seen him in years,
but my grandmother gave me some autographed 8x10 pics of various
celebrities that he worked with. Among them is one of Pam
Rodgers. It's black and white and, of course, she's wearing a
bikini. My grandmother doesn't remember what movie it was, but
Pam went to Mexico City's Churubusco Studios to do a film. My
grandmother says she was very kind and Pam even invited her for
coffee. My uncle took the picture to school where he disrupted
class by passing the picture around. It must have been the early
to mid-sixties.
If you'd like to post it on your
website, all I ask is for due credit. "Courtesy of the family of
Manuel Topete Blake" would do. If you're interested let me know
and I'll send you a scan. Could you please send me a link to your
website? I'd like to see it.
Yours Truly,
F. Mills
