Westworld is a cool movie. From the mind of
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park. Interesting enough,
Westworld is a lot similar in premise to his much later Jurassic
Park. Westworld is a theme park in the near future with human
androids where real humans go to live out their Wild West
fantasies. But theme parks aren't always perfect, and the
androids that are programmed never to harm humans start hurting
humans. Linda plays Arlette, a French prostitute android who
works at Miss Carrie's saloon. The entire sequence is
surprisingly tasteful, with no nudity, but the point is surely
made. Arlette doesn't get a lot of screen time, but is a very
memorable character. Her scenes with Richard Benjamin and Dick
Van Patten are funny and add charm to this thrilling western/sci-fi
adventure.
1973 publicity still for "Westworld" with Richard Benjamin
and Linda Gaye Scott.
