Biography: Lana Clarkson is a rather unique personality on a lot of levels. She was a tall actress (5' 11") who was beautiful AND could act. She was reportedly a nice person in real life, and NO controversy surrounded her whatsoever until her tragic death. Lana enjoyed some success during her lifetime, but is most popularly known as "the woman Phil Spector killed". Killed? Oh, excuse me, "found shot dead in Phil Spector's house with absolutely no other suspects whatsoever". I can't even believe that they had such a debate about his guilt, let alone a hung jury and a retrial. Especially since all evidence points to him and he has a history of violence against women. And she had no known enemies or other foibles.
But this page isn't about slamming Phil Spector (or is it?). The only reason I make a point of that is because her death was such a waste. There aren't many good actresses in film and television these days (2009), let alone tall, beautiful blondes. She had talent and charm and if there IS a light side to her death (and it's hard to see), it would be that people have gotten to know her and her work even better. I would have liked to have met her in person. I've met a lot of nice entertainers through Polar Blair's Den, but Lana is one I'm sure would have been nice to know. MORE COMING!
