Biography:
Harold Ramis was first known to most of us on TVs "SCTV". His
major character was goofy, sleazy Moe Green, the Station Manager of
SCTV. Ramis did a lot of funny skits, but didn't have a whole lot
of regular characters. He was only on the show for the first
season. Moe Green was written out of the show as being kidnapped
by the Lutonian Liberation Front, which was a funny ending for
him. This character was great, and Ramis leaving would have
really hurt the show, but along came the new Station Manager, Andrea
Martin's bizarre, raunchy Edith Prickley. Edith became one of the
series most popular characters.
Ramis has done little acting work since SCTV, concentrating mostly on
writing for such huge hits as: "Animal House" (1978), "Meatballs"
(1979), "Caddyshack" (1980), "Stripes" (1981), "Ghostbusters" (1984),
"Armed & Dangerous" (1986), and more. Incidentally, his most
famous acting role is Dr. Egon Spengler in the Ghostbusters
movies. In more recent years (this being written in 2009) he's
made a return to acting and always seems to be in quality
projects. MORE COMING SOON!
