Meerkat

    This was Quinn's biggest attraction.  Meerkats are important to the book we wrote together, called "Copper & the Great JoJo Mystery".  She got the biggest kick out of seeing these cute little fellers.

Pink Flamingo

    I've always loved real pink flamingos, but could never stand the yard decorations or other novelty items.  Nothing beats the real thing.  These birds are beautiful, and I was able to capture a great moment on digital camera.

Kangaroo

    Kangaroos have always interested me, but I took this photo because it was so amusing.  These guys were SACKED.  It was a hot day, after all (in the eighties).  I think I heard one of them ask the people for a Mr. Pibb.

Zebra

    Zebras are cool.  That's all there is to it.  And when you can get a bunch of them together in one scene, you really have something.

Nubian Ibex

    I found these animals interesting.  The ibex is not an animal everyone knows about.  They're probably the prettiest goat-like animal, and I loved their habitat.  It was an entirely interesting exhibit.

Giraffe

    Giraffes are fun animals.  This guy let me get real close for a picture.  "Oh, you're Polar Blair Whipple?" he asked.  "Of course I want to be on your website."  The celebrity angle works every time :)
